Organisation Fitness Profiling (OFP)

A fit organisation is one capable of effective strategy implementation, organisational learning and strategy reformulation - all of which are necessary to ensure long term competitiveness. Organisational fitness profiling is a general manager driven process that is meant to align strategy, organisation, people and culture using an action learning methodology. It is the thus a very engaging process that involves broad based commitment that is both top down as well as bottom up. Developed by the Centre For Oraganisation Fitness USA, it won the Best Practice Award for Organisational Development (OD) by the OD Institute USA for its work done for a leading healthcare organisation.

Its strategic and organisational objectives are to:

  • Increase the organisation's and individual manager's ability to implement current strategy as well as sense and respond to new threats and opportunities
  • Define an integrated management agenda for improvement
  • Mobilise the organisation to change by creating a partnership with employees
  • Enable the strategic leadership to spend more time setting the strategic direction, develop a context for actionand energize the organisation to implement rather than unilaterally deciding and doing
  • Create accountability for the capabilities of the organisation and its people
  • Develop capacity to inquire into hidden barriers to effectiveness
