Programme structure - 11 Modules
Module 1: NICF-Computer System Technologies (SF)
This module shows how to appreciate the social and economic implications of the use of various ranges of computer system. It also teaches how identify the different types of computer networks and data communication standards, types of software and computer languages used in current computer systems, describe the functions of an operating system and the facilities offered to a programmer, describe the features of common data processing systems and describe the operations, development and control activities within typical data processing department.
Module 2: NICF-Object Oriented Analysis and Design (SF)
This module provides a clear, practical framework for development that uses all the major techniques from UML 2.0. It follows an iterative and incremental approach based on the industry-standard Unified Process. It places systems analysis and design in the context of the whole systems lifecycle, and includes generic analysis and design issues.
Module 3: NICF-Computing Mathematics (SF)
This module shows how to provide the mathematical toolbox of techniques needed for the other units.
Module 4: NICF-Web Application Development in .NET and HTML (SF)
This module introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of .NET and HTML and provide an understanding on the application of web application development in .NET and HTML.
Module 5: NICF - Introduction to Python Programming (SF)
This module introduces the values in Python Programming, Simple Output, Variables, Data types and declarations, Arithmetic expressions, selection constructs, functions, arrays, strings, structures, unions and files.
Module 6: NICF-Introduction to Cloud Computing (SF)
This module introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of cloud computing and provide an understanding on the application of cloud computing.
Module 7: NICF-Database Systems, Design and Management (SF)
This module shows database modeling with database design concepts applying ER method and SQL statements and functions.
Module 8: NICF-Network Management and Security (SF)
This module shows equip students with basic network administration, theoretical knowledge and practical experience. It also provides an essential understanding of security aspect in networking environment.
Module 9: NICF-Computer Security Implementation (SF)
This module shows the concept of information security where learners will develop an understanding of the technologies and methods used to defend systems and networks. Learners will be able to describe, evaluate and operate a defensive network architecture using multiple layers of protection and also look at different types of vulnerabilities, their causes and characteristics.
Module 10: NICF-Advanced Computer System Security Administration (SF)
This module shows all aspects of computer security and describes the threats and types of attacks against computer to allow students to understand and analyze security requirements and define security policies. It will discuss major models in computer security and compare their properties and roles in implementation.
Module 11: NICF-Cyber Security Defense in Depth (SF)
This module shows the world of cybersecurity risks and defenses which are a threat to governments and businesses. It will give learners the understanding, skills and techniques to identify and tackle these threats as well as provide a framework for current and future cybersecurity threats
