Admission criteria

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

- ES WSQ Workplace Literacy

(WPL) Level 4; OR

-  IELTS 5.5 OR equivalent (applicable for international students) OR

-Successfully passed TVI English Admission Test

NUMERACY COMPETENCY

-ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) level 4

OTHERS

-Able to use a laptop or desktop computer

Method of assessment

Both formative and summative assessment will be administered during the course. The trainer will administer the assessment according to the Assessment Plan. Participants are expected to submit their duly completed Assessment Workbook on time to the assessor and will receive feedback

accordingly. Participants must be able to demonstrate the performance statements before they can be assessed as competent.

Programme structure - 3 Modules

Module 1: SFDW E-Commerce

Retailers like Forever21, SASA and DFA are struggling and closing down outlets in Singapore. Because of increasing rental, high staff costs and increasing competition from global e-commerce players. This Skillsfuture Digital Workplace (E-Commerce) unit will help you get ahead in the game.

 

• Setting up online shopping platforms and payment gateways

• Understanding various basic commercial laws

e.g. basic agreements and clauses, rights of buyers, rights of sellers, dispute resolution avenues.

Module 2: Social Media Marketing

Evaluate potential and suitability of social media marketing opportunities, seek new ways of utilizing social media channels, and monitor outcome of social media marketing.


• Develop plans for social marketing campaign
• Determine feasibility of using various platforms
• How can they learn to freelance
• Promoting his/her services at of cial, approved and trusted sites
• Writing a business Freelance name using Social Media

Module 3:  Facilitate Effective Communication and Engagement at the Workplace

On completion of the unit, the learner will be able to promote effective communication within the team and use appropriate communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to build rapport and relationship with colleagues, stakeholders and customers, as well as resolve conflicts through negotiation while taking diversity issues into consideration.

 

• Communicate organisational communication policies and procedures to staff and monitor their compliance

• Maintain channels of communication to update staff on latest and relevant work-related information according to organisational communication policies and procedures

• Promote effective communication among staff taking into account diversity issues

• Use appropriate communication techniques and tools to suit different communication styles of people in formal and informal settings

Mode of delivery

A range of learning methodology such as mini-lectures, plenary discussion, small group discussion, role-plays, exercises, presentation, case study etc. will be used in the course. The trainer will conduct the program in accordance to the Lesson Plan and Trainer’s Guide.
